This article analyzes the factors that led to the restructuring of the agrarian and hydric landscape in the rioverdenses valleys of the state of San Luis Potosí during the transition from the 19^th to the 20^th century. It seeks to ascertain how certain external factors disrupted the irrigation systems constructed by private landowners since the colonial period, as land and water came to form part of the ejidos constituted through the implementation of Agrarian Reform in the 20^th century.
