This article expose observations and analysis about processes of territoriality in the mixe region, located in the northwest of the State of Oaxaca, in the southern Mexico. Through of an ethnographic investigation, we have examined forms of territorial conception in a mixe village. We studied the history, customs and traditions to know institutions and social practices that connect and materialize the relation with space and constitute collective life. The demonstration tries to contribute to epistemological reflation on indigenous communities and territories in Mexico, underlining the centrality of reciprocal relationships. It concludes with a definition of "community" as a set of practices and actions, and of "territory" as a network of social relations.
