HUERTA MATA, Rosa María. Social Support and Intimate Partner Violence in University Students. Secuencia [online]. 2021, n.110, e1851. Epub 04-Jun-2021. ISSN 2395-8464. https://doi.org/10.18234/secuencia.v0i110.1851.
The objective of this article is to analyze the process of acceptance-rejection of the social support received by some of the university students who experience intimate partner violence. In september and october 2017, four focus groups of female law and psychology students were organized at the Escuela Superior de Actopan, part of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH), Mexico. In the partner violence that university students experience, their friends are involved as a support network. However, this support collapses either because victims do not leave the partner relationship, or because their friends are threatened with violence by the aggressor. The paper contributes to knowledge on the subjectivities of those who support young women experiencing intimate partner violence.
