Resumen

PELLEGRINI MALPIEDI, Micaela. Teachers, Writing and the Intellectual Sphere: Maria Laura Schiavoni and Leticia Cossettini. Santa Fe (Argentina) during the First Half of the 20th Century. Secuencia [online]. 2022, n.114, e1975.  Epub 19-Sep-2022. ISSN 2395-8464.  https://doi.org/10.18234/secuencia.v0i114.1975.

This article is part of the line of research studying the feminization of teaching. It is located among the research that interprets the teaching profession as a possibility for the public and intellectual projection of women during the first half of the 20th century. It examines the trajectories of two teachers: María Laura Schiavoni and Leticia Cossettini, placing them within the group of educators who, in addition to teaching, possessed an expanded sociability in which they also wrote. However, although they were both keen wordsmiths, their paths diverged when they engaged in a dialogue with the complex concept of the intellectual. This article contributes to the field of the history of education, which for years overlooked the fact that teaching was a predominantly female pursuit, thereby interpreting the past from an androcentric, male perspective.
