Resumen

SOSA-SANCHEZ, Itzel Adriana  y  MENKES BANCET, Catherine. Teen Pregnancy among Indigenous-Language-Speaking Women Who Belong to an Ethnic Group in Mexico. An Analysis Based on Enadid 2014. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2019, vol.34, n.98, pp.59-84.  Epub 09-Mar-2021. ISSN 2007-8358.

Teen pregnancy in Mexico involves sexual, reproductive, and human rights. This article documents the prevalence of and factors associated with the teen pregnancies of sexually active women between the ages of 20 and 29 who are indigenous language speakers or belong to an ethnic group. Due to their weight in the phenomenon under study, the authors also identify elements linked to early conjugal unions. Using the 2014 National Survey on the Demographic Dynamic (Enadid), they do a univariate, bivariate, and multivariate statistical analysis. The results show that significant differences exist among the indicators for reproductive health of female indigenous-language speakers who belong to an ethnic group, differences reflected in their reproductive behavior and their marriage rates.

Palabras llave : teen pregnancy; indigenous language speakers; belonging to an ethnic group; early conjugal union.
