Resumen

PINEDA-PINEDA, Joel et al. Macronutrimental Extraction in Red Raspberry. Terra Latinoam [online]. 2008, vol.26, n.4, pp.333-340. ISSN 2395-8030.

One of the fundamental factors that favors high yields and, consequently, profitability of agricultural products is fertilization, which should be adjusted to each species based on nutrient extraction curves. This study determined the macronutrient extraction (N, P, K, Ca, Mg) curves in red raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) cv. Malling Autumn Bliss through samplings in each growth stage. It was found that macronutrient extraction was parallel to the curve of dry matter accumulation. K and Ca were the most extracted nutrients, followed by P, N, and Mg. In general, the highest demand of nutrients occurred during the vegetative stage, decreasing at flowering, fruit development, and harvest. During the vegetative stage, the plant extracted 44% N; 31% P; 28% K; 29% Ca, and 29% Mg, and in the second growth stage 25% N; 58% P; 25% K; 29% Ca and 27% Mg. Raspberry could be considered a low demander of nutrients since, with a population of 55 000 canes ha–1, macronutrient extractions were: 6.07 kg N; 12.28 P2O5;33.42 K2O; 19.98 CaO, and 9.1 MgO in a growth period of four months. The leaf was the organ that extracted the highest quantity of macronutrients, followed by the root, stem, fruit, and flower.
