This paper analyzes the formation of the State emerged from the Mexican Revolution. It rests on the understanding of the State as a relational process: a form of social life which takes place in the struggle and resistance, in which configuration the subaltern classes also participate, and whose foundations are woven intangible long time in history. Recovering the Gramscian reading of Machiavelli, this paper find in the myth of the agrarian community the key to understanding the Mexican Revolution State's legitimacy.
