Resumen
CASAS-BELTRAN, Diego Armando; BELTRAN-MORALES, Luis Felipe; CASTELLANOS, Aradit y SOLIS-CAMARA, Aurora Breceda. Turismo residencial y migración de jubilados extranjeros en México: un estudio de caso sobre sus implicaciones ambientales y de servicios en Baja California Sur. Estud. front [online]. 2013, vol.14, n.28, pp.51-77. ISSN 2395-9134.
Migration of foreign retirees in Mexico has increased, especially in Los Cabos, where settlements trailer type are increasing and are moving into rural coastal areas of high ecological value, without the knowledge of impacts that may result. Thus the aim of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of this type of settlement, by documenting a case study, the characteristics of their community, their environmental impacts and implications for the provision of public services. We conclude that the town will become a short-term retreat site, because while it does not have high densities, its environmental implications are significant and broad coverage. Its current demand for services is minimal, but may cause conflicts in the future, especially with the water.
