LOPES, Francisco Antonio Mabson Henrique y OLIVEIRA, Darlei Gutierrez Dantas Bernardo. Mathematical-chemical interrelationship: discussing stoichiometry in the Enemy. Educ. quím [online]. 2021, vol.32, n.3, pp.171-182. Epub 14-Mar-2022. ISSN 0187-893X. https://doi.org/10.22201/fq.18708404e.2021.3.76653.
Stoichiometry is one of the contents of Chemistry that necessarily uses mathematical concepts to solve problems. The need to perform unit transformations, the molar ratio of reagents and products of a reaction requires the ability to operationalize addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. Thus, understanding the existence of this interrelation between Mathematics and Chemistry, the objective of this study is to present the importance of the interdisciplinary approach between both areas in the teaching-learning process through the resolution of issues of stoichiometry of ENEM. Methodologically, the work is based on an exploratory bibliographic research, in which the Chemistry questions from the last five editions of ENEM were reviewed. After identification, stoichiometry questions were selected for resolution, in order to understand the importance of mathematical knowledge for such situations. Thus, it was found that over the five years, 18.5% of Chemistry questions require mathematical knowledge, among which, 45% are stoichiometric questions. Therefore, based on the findings observed in the questions, it is understood that it is essential to the interdisciplinary approach in the teaching-learning processes, especially in the teaching of stoichiometry, so that students have the ability to apply some mathematical concepts in problems involving Chemistry.
