This paper aims to contribute to rethink those periods of latency when social movements do not explicitly conflict with the State, through the analysis of the solidarity economy in Brazil and the Epistemologies of the South. As a conclusion, it is observed that there are political dynamics, which are revealed as political action, in periods where the theories of the North have only seen culture and/or economy. Furthermore, this political action can be expressed in everyday life through collective-associative work, community solidarism and the integration of these within the domestic sphere.
