HERRERA TORRES, Hugo Amador. Transcendental Feasibility. Utopian Hypotheses of a Life Economy. Econ: teor. práct [online]. 2023, n.58, pp.199-223. Epub 26-Jun-2023. ISSN 2448-7481. https://doi.org/10.24275/etypuam/ne/582023/herrera.
The paper seeks to identify the degree of transcendental feasibility of the utopia of a life economy. In the method of analysis 1) the position of utopia in such a proposal is defined, 2) its main hypotheses are drawn up and 3) the relationships between subjects and utopias that ensure the permanence of the original sources of all social production (human life and nature) are determined. The results indicate 1) that utopia in a life economy is positioned as an outcome, not an objective, 2) that the general utopian hypothesis is “life on Earth is eternal and full life” and 3) that human thoughts that degenerate the specific character of utopias fall into transcendental illusions. In this context, the actions derived threaten human life and nature. Illusions nullify transcendental feasibility. By contrast, transcendental imaginations allow for practicability. The utopia of a life economy comes from imaginations.
