This paper refers the erosive evolution of the glacis sorrounding the "Sierra de Monte Alto y Monte Bajo", central Mexico. Two different phases of erosion were recognized. The second of these was responsible of the asymmetry of valley profiles detected all over the glacis. The study of the fluvial net allowed the recognition of drainage captures. Its analysis helped to establish the origin of asymmetrical valleys. Finally, a morphodynamic model is proposed to explain the main processes dealing with valley development in the glacis.
