VAZQUEZ SOLIS, Valente y PROPIN FREJOMIL, Enrique. Regional economic differences within the State of Guerrero, Mexico. Invest. Geog [online]. 2001, n.46, pp.131-147. ISSN 2448-7279.
This paper aims to reveal the regional-economic inequalities within the state of Guerrero, southern Mexico, by means of the economic regionalization of its territory. In the first part, we present the theoretical assumptions supporting the study, particularly as regards the current regional-geographical thought. Then we proceed to identify the nineteen regional units comprising the state of Guerrero, a process that required the use of probabilistic regionalization and typification methods. Finally, we conduct an interpretation of the identified territorial differences, associated mainly with the concentration of population and economic activity at preferential locations within the southern state, one of poorest in the country.
