Globalization produces all kinds of changes, so quickly we do not have the necessary time to see them or to comprehend them. Also, the generation of information is so rapid there is no way to follow the changes or it does not reflect them. Anyhow, we can say that the old concept of "tertiary" also changes rapidly from the concept of useless and non productive activities, to the most dynamic sector of economy anywhere, even if we include the so called "informal activities". From the XX century to the XXI century, the rich countries have led the way, mostly concerning the increase of the services sector of economy. Tertiarization is also present in other countries as the emerging ones, thus, in this paper we present the Mexican scenario: it occupies more than half the active population and produces more than 70% on the national income. A detailed geographical analysis of services in Mexico is given.
