HERNANDEZ GONZALEZ, Eduardo y CONTRERAS TINOCO, Karla Alejandra. Share capital and level of education in the adult population of Ocotlán, Jalisco. Acta univ [online]. 2019, vol.29, e2360. Epub 11-Sep-2020. ISSN 2007-9621. https://doi.org/10.15174/au.2019.2360.
Share capital and education are social assets associated in a mutual generation relationship. Supporting this statement seems to be commonplace, but providing evidence that confirms it is less frequent than expected. For this reason, the purpose of this paper is to show the results of the analysis of the relationship between social capital and the educational level of the people from Ocotlán, Jalisco. The data come from an empirical study conducted in the city of Ocotlán, Jalisco. The study involved 420 people older than 18 years of age from different neighborhoods of the municipality. For the sample design and its distribution, the variables of sex and place of residence were considered. The analyzes were performed through statistical tests that allowed to identify the relationship between variables, such as: Pearson correlations, Chi-square, Anovas, Levene test, Games Howell, and Tukey. In the conclusions, it is sustained, from the results, that in fact the educational level is associated with better levels of social capital, specifically in the dimensions of social networks, neighborhood networks, and social support.
