Resumen

LOPEZ-CORDERO, Sofía et al. Multiple syringomas in a rare topography: case report. Ginecol. obstet. Méx. [online]. 2021, vol.89, n.4, pp.325-329.  Epub 11-Feb-2022. ISSN 0300-9041.  https://doi.org/10.24245/gom.v89i4.4735.

BACKGROUND:

Syringomas are benign tumors of the eccrine glands that rarely appear only in the vulvar region. These neoformations usually manifest on the face and are associated with various genetic syndromes or familial eruptive varieties. They are usually seen in the vulvar region as skin-colored neoformations, sometimes associated with pruritus, although other morphologies exist. The diagnosis is exclusively histological with multiple eccrine glandular ducts. Treatment is not necessary because it is a benign disease, although different therapeutic alternatives can be offered for aesthetic reasons.

CLINICAL CASE:

32-year-old female patient with a dermatosis of two years of evolution, consisting of multiple lesions of papular appearance located on the labia majora, associated with occasional pruritus and increased during the last pregnancy. The incisional biopsy report was of syringomas, not requiring treatment by virtue of the absence of perinatal repercussion.

CONCLUSIONS:

The isolated occurrence of syringomas on the vulva is rare, with a few cases reported in the literature, hence the relevance of reporting this case with very representative characteristics of this dermatosis and as a support to differentiate it from other types of skin lesions that appear in this region and do require treatment.
