Resumen

FLORES-CHAGOLLA, Gonzalo Mauricio; HUESCA-JIMENEZ, Karina  y  HUESCA-JIMENEZ, Gustavo. Fetal effects of pregnant women induced to hypothermia. Description of cases. Rev. mex. anestesiol. [online]. 2019, vol.42, n.4, pp.307-311.  Epub 23-Ago-2021. ISSN 0484-7903.

The therapeutic hypothermia currently known as Target Temperature Management is intentionally and controlled induced until a decrease in the core temperature of 32-36 oC. Its use in patients who were under a period of cerebral blood flow limitation has shown benefits in the neurological prognosis. However, it is not free of adverse effects. The dilemma arises when we are presented with a pregnant patient in which we must choose those therapies that achieve a balance between the best control of maternal pathology with the lowest risk to the fetus. The present study aims to perform a review of the fetal effects of pregnant women induced to hypothermia and to mention the cases reports that up to now exist.
