ARIAS, Eduardo et al. Elaboración y estudio de nanopelículas de oligómeros y polímeros conjugados: Construcción de diodos electroluminiscentes. Rev. Soc. Quím. Méx [online]. 2002, vol.46, n.1, pp.23-31. ISSN 0583-7693.
In this paper we focus on the preparation of thin films by Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) and Spin coating (SC) techniques of rigid rod like benzoateethynylene (pBEn) and phenylene (pPFn) oligomers bearing 3, 5 and 7 repeat units as well as the homologue polymers. Both series of molecules were characterized by X-ray diffraction and polarized optical microscopy. The pBEn oligomers as well as the polymer showed high photoluminescence and large Stokes shifts with emissions in the blue and green regions, while the pPFn oligomers emit rather towards the blue. Light emitting diodes (LED) were constructed with the sandwich configuration ITO/pBE7/LiF-Al with the pBE7 oligomer by both LB and spin coating techniques. The LED device constructed with a spin coating film showed the highest quantum yield of photons per injected electron. Preliminary results of films prepared by self assembling from solutions using poly(aniline) (pAni) as poly(cation) and poly(γ-glutamic acid) (pAG) as poly (anion) are also presented. The film morphology was characterized by AFM.
