BARCELO, Icela D. et al. Determinación del estado de equilibrio de un sistema hídrico. Rev. Soc. Quím. Méx [online]. 2002, vol.46, n.2, pp.93-104. ISSN 0583-7693.
Two analytical methods are compared in order to determine the chemical behaviour of a natural water system, with low hydrodynamic mobility. The first method considers only the carbonate species and Ca2+ whereas the ionic force is taken into account in the second. A series of equations is presented, in order to establish the relations of Ca2+, H2CO3, HCO3- y CO32- with other significant ions that are present in the reservoir, called foreign ions. It is demonstrated that foreign ions modify Saturation Indexes, discrediting the first method.
