This article has as axis the discussion around the notion of labor competences and its relation with the integral forms of organization of the work. One of the objectives is to analize a concept that today is used, in academic means as in the sector industralist, without unicity of criteria. It is tried to understand what is what underlies when is spoken of the management by competences as different and until opposed from other forms of management of the force from work more ligatures from the negotiation with the union actors and the process of work. In this sense, this article has the intention to in the last contribute to a debate around this problematic putting on the rug years by industralists, unions, governments and intellectuals.
