Resumen
SOTO-SONERA, José. Influencia de las creencias religiosas en los docentes de ciencia sobre la teoría de la evolución biológica y su didáctica. RMIE [online]. 2009, vol.14, n.41, pp.515-538. ISSN 1405-6666.
This research, a case study, had the objective of analyzing religious beliefs as a relevant element in the postures that teachers assume with regard to the theory of biological evolution and the teaching of that theory. It also had the objective of formulating the implications on education and teacher education. The research was carried out in Puerto Rico by completing in-depth interviews with four teachers in service (seventh-ninth and tenth-eleventh grades) and with two pre-service teachers (fourth-sixth and seventh-ninth grades). The focus on emerging theory facilitated the development of the model of Religious Beliefs-Biological Evolution (CREB), a theoretical explanation that emphasizes the relevance of religious beliefs by describing how participants construct and sustain, in syncretic form, their version of biological evolution.
