Resumen

HERNANDEZ RODRIGUEZ, Ernesto. Intentionality and Reflexivity in Bilingual Indigenous Students' Writing in Higher Education. RMIE [online]. 2015, vol.20, n.66, pp.789-825. ISSN 1405-6666.

This article presents a study of the practices bilingual indigenous university students use to revise and edit texts in Spanish. A methodological and conceptual proposal characterizes elements of intentionality and reflexivity in their writing. On the most part, these students must communicate in Spanish at the university, although they speak their native languages on a daily basis. This situation is revealed in evidence of intentionality and reflexivity in written performance, and the resulting impact on the students. The research presents the methodological procedure for obtaining and classifying students' writing, and thus identifies and characterizes evidence of intentionality and reflexivity in their performance. Based on experience in an exploratory survey at Universidad Pedagógica Nacional in Tehuantepec, and on methodological decision-making to refine the design of eliciting such work, an exercise of interaction and writing was carried out with students at Chiapas' Universidad Intercultural.
