Resumen

CHUQUILIN CUBAS, Jerson  y  ZAGACETA SARMIENTO, Maribel. The Curriculum of Basic Education in Times of Transformation: The Cases of Mexico and Peru. RMIE [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.72, pp.109-134. ISSN 1405-6666.

The purpose of this article is to show some of the changes associated with the curriculum reforms undertaken in Mexico and Peru in basic education. To achieve this end, we focus the analysis on the curriculum proposals made in 2016, within the framework of a qualitative research perspective and supported by the analysis of document content. In both countries, the means of intervention in constructing curriculum policy is based increasingly on social participation. Efforts are destined to institute the curriculum as a connecting device among the three levels of basic education. While curriculum policies in Mexico are separate from the focus on competencies, in Peru, the attempt is made to give continuity and coherence to the model.

Palabras llave : basic education; competencies; curriculum; curriculum design; educational policy.
