This essay presents a set of reflections on the change in graduate policies and, in particular, on doctoral education and employability in Latin America, in the transition to higher education in post-pandemic times. The study is situated in the context of the region's socio-political situation and addresses the incidence of the COVID-19 pandemic in the role of the State and the educational policies concerning doctoral education. Various dilemmas of graduate studies, doctoral education, and employability are explored, with an emphasis on certain cases and six lines of analysis. The conclusions focus on the nature and time of change in educational policies and in post-pandemic societies.
