TAVERAS SANCHEZ, Berki Yoselin  y  LOPEZ-YANEZ, Julián. Pedagogical Mentoring in the Dominican Republic: Perspectives of Teachers and Mentors. RMIE [online]. 2022, vol.27, n.95, pp.1193-1224.  Epub 30-Ene-2023. ISSN 1405-6666.

This article attempts to analyze pedagogical mentoring in the Dominican Republic's elementary education, from the perspective of teachers (n=301) and mentors (n=40). A self-administered questionnaire identified their profiles, as well as their mentoring practices, training activities, and underlying pedagogical conceptions of mentoring. The questionnaire was validated by four complementary modalities, which revealed high levels of reliability and internal consistency. Coordinators and mentoring were perceived in a positive manner. Teachers and coordinators have a favorable attitude towards mentoring and positively evaluate all of the analyzed dimensions. Mentoring is planned according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and is based on teachers' interests and needs. The results also highlighted that the positive attitude of teachers and mentors, along with their training, significantly influence teaching practices and the success of mentoring.

Palabras llave : pedagogical mentoring; assessment; ongoing training; teacher training.
