Resumen

CALLE-ARANGO, Lina. “Does This Project Represent Me or Not?” Identity Negotiations in Doctoral Students: Two Case Studies. RMIE [online]. 2022, vol.27, n.95, pp.1225-1251.  Epub 30-Ene-2023. ISSN 1405-6666.

This article is based on the research question: What identity negotiation processes do doctoral students reveal as they become familiar with new academic practices during their first two years in the program? Through an exploratory/interpretive design of a longitudinal case study of a qualitative nature, the experiences of two Chilean students in a doctoral program in education were documented. The results show that the participants faced identity negotiations and crisis due to the contrast between the available possibilities of "being" in the new context, and the previously developed values of academic writing.

Palabras llave : identity; academic writing; case study; doctoral training.
