Practical training has gained increased relevance in the literature on initial teacher training. One discussed element is the relationship between universities and practice centers (colleges and schools). Considering the above, this study aims to describe the regulatory framework that governs the practice processes carried out by students of Pedagogy in basic education from two regional universities in Chile. 26 institutional documents produced by the universities were analyzed. Some of the results indicate that there is a comprehensive theoretical development that guides practical training, formal partnerships between universities and the centers where the practices are conducted are fostered, and significant responsibilities are entrusted to them in the training of future teachers.
