The bushings of a power transformer generally represent the element with the greatest risk of failure in the device, this is due to the large dielectric stresses to which it is subjected. These insulators are designed to minimize the electric field to which they are exposed, both on the surface and inside. The contribution of this work results in the calculation of the electric field in a solid type of bushing, brand H-J, with the aim of identifying the areas where there will be higher concentrations of electrical stress, this will serve as a basis for further studies of various phenomena that can cause the gradual deterioration of the insulation, the most important, partial discharges. A summary of the historical evolution of the bushing is made, as well as their classification according to their type. The mathematical development to calculate the electric field concentrations and different particularities of the software used, COMSOL Multiphysics®, are described. The physical properties and geometric specifications of the bushing under study are detailed. Finally, a comparison is made between the 2D and 3D models, to observe different behaviors in the intensity of the electric field. The bushing operates on a 30 MVA transformer at 115/34.5 kV.
