This paper corroborates whether economic convergence existed in the main manufacturing municipalities of Mexico in the period 1960-2018. The panel data methodology is used together with application of fixed effects and random effects tests. The contribution of the work lays on the wide temporal space and the analysis at the municipal level. Conditional convergence is confirmed, though with signs of weakening in recent years. The dynamism of manufacturing has not been able to boost the economy, since Mexico’s regional inequalities have not diminished.
