Resumen

COMBES, Hélène. How Far Have we Gone with the Study of Clientelism?. Desacatos [online]. 2011, n.36, pp.13-32. ISSN 2448-5144.

The author's objective is to propose a state of the art of the literature on clientelism, with a multidisciplinary perspective. The article therefore takes into account both classical anthropological works and more recent contributions in political science, sociology and anthropology. It presents the distinct schools, disciplinary perspectives and evolutions as far as the analysis of clientelism. It puts emphasis on innovative works, which try and distance themselves from analyses that focus on the unequal dimension of the relationship entailed by clientelism, or which try to study clientelism within the larger framework of the changes experienced by political systems.

Palabras llave : clientelism; moral economy; brokers; political science; anthropology.
