This study analyzes the teaching practice in the personal and didactical dimensions of four English teachers in public secondary schools with different level of linguistic competence in English in Aguascalientes. The study was focused on teaching actions and elements of academic formation as a support of the doing and acting of the teacher inside the classroom. Throughout the multiple study of cases and the use of techniques and instruments of different level of structuration as the methodological frame, the research was developed with the exploration, identification, description and analysis of the components involved in the pedagogic process and the teacher's training. Vocation for teaching, permanent professionalization, dogmatic and little variation in teaching methodology, teacher´s discourse and academic text making as frequent strategies, were identified as components in the pedagogic process. Coincidences related to the trial that English teachers of secondary level have against the student unreal basis of knowledge, the different levels of English in most of them and the teacher´s recognition of the need of permanent teaching updating and professionalization were found in the study.
