Resumen
CALIANDRO, Stefania. Eight theories in favor of (or against?) a semiotics of color. Tóp. Sem [online]. 2012, n.28, pp.21-38. ISSN 2594-0619.
Through an exploration of the question of knowing just how color participates in the construction of meaning and sense, especially in art, this article intends to reinstate the complexities of the relationships that color establishes with all the other elements that belong in a work of art. Considering concepts, perceptions, and sensations linked to color, it shows the importance of adhering to the sensible in order to capture the semiotic function of color. Besides the dichotomy posed by light and matter, Wittgenstein’s observations concerning colors lead to a deeper view of the relationship of color and matter, and also contribute to a positioning of said situation in the transition towards a discursive and, later on, meta-discursive level.
