Resumen
PECH CUTIS, CM et al. Effects of an agroforestry system productive management on the associated diversity of parasitoids (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) in Yucatán, México. Biotecnia [online]. 2022, vol.24, n.2, pp.155-161. Epub 19-Mayo-2023. ISSN 1665-1456. https://doi.org/10.18633/biotecnia.v24i2.1654.
Although tropical agroforestry systems modify natural environments, they are proposed as a sustainable alternative for food production and biodiversity conservation. This work explores how the diversity of parasitoids is modified between different areas in a fragmented scenario such as an agroforestry system. It was found that there is no direct effect of plant diversity on the group of parasitoids studied. However, the number of specialist species is high, which indicates that in diversified agroforestry, these probably function as a remnant of natural habitat or as a refuge for parasitoids that disperse towards the different types of management within the agroforestry. Therefore, in future studies, it is necessary to consider the controls exerted by the bottom-up effects of plant diversity, adding to this the context of the interactions that occur in agroforestry systems.
