This article aims to answer the following question: What mobilizations are being carried out by GHEMAT in the field of History of Mathematics Education for the conservation of elements from school culture? For this shows the different interpretations of the term school culture in the view of some authors (Chervel, 1988; Julia, 2001; Viñao, 2007). Next is problematized an experience about the mobilizations that the Group of Research in History of Mathematics Education in Brazil (GHEMAT) has been doing to preserve the documents that refer to school culture, especially the mobilization of school notebooks of the students and teachers in the period 1890 to 1970, and which technological tool is helping to preserve the sources that contribute to advances in researches.
