The work is a product of a wider qualitative research on the exercise of power in the act of teaching in intercultural bilingual primary schools in indigenous communities of the municipalities Ocozocoautla and Berriozábal in the state of Chiapas. It is an approach to the reality of teaching practices through a study case. Empirical data show that in the operation of the teaching act behind a conservative society, as the central task is to integrate indigenous students to the cultural hegemony through power and domination, denying either their mother tongue, modeling bodies, punishing devalued forms of resistance and self-identity.
