VIZCARRA, Héctor Fernando. Narrative seriality as a publishing strategy: the brazilian collection “Literatura ou Morte”. Latinoamérica [online]. 2017, n.65, pp.57-84. ISSN 2448-6914.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cialc.24486914e.2017.65.56951.

Amongst studies on Narrative seriality, of very recent development in Latin-American academic world, there is a limited number of essays on seriality created by different authors. This article is inscribed in this research line, and is intended to examine the mechanisms of serial writings commissioned by publishing houses. In order to do so, the author analyses some of the novels from the “Literatura ou Morte” series, created in 2000 by the Brazilian Companhia das Letras, The kind of novels included in this corps are: detective fiction featuring famous authors (Borges, Bilac, Camus, Molière, Hemingway). The aspects that characterize said collection, and that integrate the analysed corpus are the depiction of private places, nostalgic perceptions of the past, and the inter-serial literary dialogue.
