Resumen

GONZALEZ ALMADA, Magdalena. Space is not a Surface. Variations on the Configuration of Nature in Bolivian Literature. Latinoamérica [online]. 2023, n.77, pp.49-73.  Epub 19-Abr-2024. ISSN 2448-6914.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cialc.24486914e.2023.77.57556.

In the Bolivian literary production of the 20th and 21st centuries, the configuration of nature has been a theme addressed recurringly and from different approaches which exceed a representation of space limited to sustaining the actions of the characters or a mere contextualizing description to, instead, highlight it within the textualities. The premise that guides this investigation maintains that from the particular discursivization of space and nature, the Bolivian literary tradition built a set of social imaginaries that privileged the space of the altiplano and the valleys while the contemporary narrative turns to other spaces. like those of eastern Bolivia. This research is based on the categories nature (Williams, Tancredi, Augé) and space (Llarena, Massey, Heredia, Ighina) to analyze a corpus of texts that supports the proposed critical reading.
