Resumen

GARCIA AGUILAR, María Idalia. Between oblivion and survival: the jesuit books of the Colegio de San Luis Potosí. Revista Col. San Luis [online]. 2016, vol.6, n.11, pp.48-105. ISSN 2007-8846.

The history of libraries in New Spain, those that were private and those that were founded and put together by the religious orders, is a disperse, unfinished and unknown history and is therefore subject to several modifications. Indeed, despite the immense development that the history of libraries has reached in other places, in Mexico, the historical knowledge of the collection of the colonial past does not seem to have much interest, even though these libraries preserve important bibliographical and documented testimonies that convey the richness and complexity of the heritage during the three centuries of the Colonial Viceroyalty.

Palabras llave : Colonial libraries; Jesuit libraries; Compañía de Jesús, History of libraries.
