Resumen

ARAIZA DIAZ, Verónica. Reinventing nature to take over the capitalocene: Donna Haraway’s proposal. Andamios [online]. 2021, vol.18, n.46, pp.413-441.  Epub 17-Ene-2022. ISSN 2594-1917.  https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v18i46.851.

The purpose of this paper is to pose the current environmental crisis as a philosophical problem, an existential matter, a question of knowledge and ways of life. We explore the ideas of American biologist and philosopher Donna Haraway, who has analyzed the modern concept of nature, which defines it as an inert entity; instead, she suggests it is a biocultural articulation. Likewise, based on her proposal, we understand it is not a matter of fighting the crisis, but of taking responsibilities, in order to figure possible hopeful futures, as an alternative to the pessimism that distinguishes the Anthropocene/Capitalocene narrative.

Palabras llave : Donna Haraway; nature; environmental crisis; Capitalocene; Anthropocene.
