Resumen
MARTINEZ GONZALEZ, Víctor Hugo. Contemporary forms of labor exploitation in Ken Loach’s cinema. Andamios [online]. 2022, vol.19, n.48, pp.207-225. Epub 17-Oct-2022. ISSN 2594-1917. https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v19i48.901.
Known as a classic of political cinema, Ken Loach’s films denounce the injustice of capitalism against the working classes and criticize the labor explotation deepened by neoliberalism. This essay analizes Ken Loach’s gaze in three films, and reflects on the need to politically review the economic foundations of the social order. Precarizing labor and the well-being of the working classes is, as it is argued here, a sympton of the ideological confusion between modernization and democracy of our time.
