Resumen
SANCHEZ HERRERA, Ma. Lurim; KATAGIRI KATAGIRI, Mario y ALVAREZ GAYOSO, Carlos. In vitro study of the deterioration of the elastic properties in the elastomeric chains. Rev. Odont. Mex [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.2, pp.79-82. ISSN 1870-199X. https://doi.org/10.22201/fo.1870199xp.2006.10.2.15906.
The elasticity in the elastomeric chains suffers a gradual deterioration due to the constant tensional force they are submitted to. This happens because the molecular structure is ruptured by the action of ambiental factors.
Objective
To analyze the deterioration in the elastomeric chains, caused by constant stretching in three different brands at different periods of time.
Method
Ten samples, with five links, of each brand were set (GAC, TP and 3M UNITEK), and submitted to tension forces, measuring the initial force, at 30 minutes, 24 hours and 4 weeks. The extensión values were measured at 30 minutes, 24 hours and 4 weeks. The data was analyzed using a Friedman test to determine the statistical differences between the three brands.
Results
The brand with the most uniform behavior was GAC. TP has high force values, but low in stretch values, while 3M has low force values, and high stretch values.
