KURI LAJUD, José Juan; BARCELO SANTANA, Federico; SANTOS ESPINOSA, Alejandro y ACOSTA TORRES, Laura Susana. Bond strength of three brands of denture teeth on two brands of acrylic resins for denture bases. Rev. Odont. Mex [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.2, pp.76-80. ISSN 1870-199X. https://doi.org/10.22201/fo.1870199xp.2008.12.2.15676.
The most common failures in prostodonthic treatments are related to the chemical bond between teeth and the acrylic base. This chemical bond is affected by diverse factors in the processing of such prosthethics, therefore their clinical performance is affected. The bond strength of three different brands of denture teeth Gnathostar (Ivoclar), Biotone (Dentsply) and Newtek (Manufacturera Dental Continental) was tested on two different termopolimerizables acrylic resins Nic-Tone (Manufacturera Dental Continental) and Lucitone 199 (Dentsply), in accordance with ADA specification No. 15. The Newtek teeth with the acrylic resin Nic-Tone showed the highest values (30.47 MPa) in the test.
