PENAGLIA, Francesco y MEJIAS, Silvania. THE CHILEAN STUDENT CONFLICT AND ITS POLITICAL IMPACTS. Polis [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.2, pp.7-38. Epub 11-Sep-2020. ISSN 2594-0686. https://doi.org/10.24275/uam/izt/dcsh/polis/2019v15n2/penaglia.
The Chilean student movement of 2011 attracted national and global interest. Various reports, press releases and academic analyzes positioned this actor on the global stage of unrest and revolts (Arab Spring, indignant, among other phenomena). However, as has happened with other student phenomena of global recognition as May 1968, even in Chile, the social, cultural and political effects that this movement has generated are being discussed. This article seeks to account for that discussion within the framework of the Chilean social sciences, by providing analytical background on possible effects in the political sphere.
