Third instar larvae and pupae of Phyllophaga heteronycha (Bates) and P.leonina (Bates), and third instar larva of P.angulicollis (Bates) are described with specimens collected in soils of a Pseudotsuga macrolepis (Pinaceae) plantation, located at 2,300 m in Las Vigas, Veracruz, Mexico. Comparative brief descriptions of larvae of the first and second instars of the 3 species, drawings of diagnostic structures, comments on similarities with other species, and a key to the larvae of Phyllophaga in Mexico are included.
