VERA-SANCHEZ, Alejandro. Two new species of the genus Platydecticus (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae) from the Austral High Andean area in Central Chile. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2022, vol.93, e933962. Epub 20-Ene-2023. ISSN 2007-8706. https://doi.org/10.22201/ib.20078706e.2022.93.3962.
Two new species of the genus Platydecticus are described, P. elguetai sp. nov. and P. atelcura sp. nov. Descriptions of both species are based on males, females and eggs. The new species are distributed in the High Andean area of Central Chile over 2,300 m asl. The new species are morphologically similar to P. angustifrons in the shape of the fastigium of vertex and cercus. The most relevant diagnostic features in the 2 new species are in the morphology of the pseudocercus, male subgenital plate, titillator, denticulation of the ovipositor, and micropyles distribution.
