This paper objective is to know evolution process of touristic activity in Teotihuacán, Estado de México, from its residents point of view This perspective increases the possibilities to address different constitutive elements of the tourism phenomenon based on the diversity of experiences of the actors involved in it. The applied methodological approach was qualitative using observation and semi-structured interviews to the residents of two communities located around Teotihuacán archaeological area. Findings show there have been changes related to archaeological vestiges, which inhabitants consider as touristic activity trigger and permanent driving force. When residents recount their individual and collective experiences, they keep relevant a series of social, economic and political elements.
