SALAZAR-EXAIRE, Celia. Water distribution in San Juan Bautista Axalpan, Tehuacaán, México, 18th Century. agric. soc. desarro [online]. 2007, vol.4, n.2, pp.147-164. ISSN 1870-5472.
This study presents an analysis of problems that arose among natives of San Juan Bautista Axalpan and the haciendas of Santísima Trinidad, San José Buenavista and La Huerta, regarding water from the Chalma ravine, due to abuses over water by the Spanish, which were denounced by the natives. Although the disputes were settled in favor of the natives, the hacienda owners would steal water again, making these processes long and costly for the indigenous community.
