From unpublished sources this article will address the first steps of one of the first Protestant denominations who arrived in Michoacan in 1880, the Church United Methodist bishops of the South of the United States. Their preaching points, will discuss catholic religious intolerance, nationalism of some of its leaders and its attitude towards the religious policy of the State. By way of hypothesis say that Methodism in Michoacan was submissive to the provisions of the authorities of public worship, however, was a dynamic protestantism which sought to adjust to the political moment to survive in an adverse context. As a result of his missionary strategy methodism abandoned the religious field in Michoacan in the year of 1919, showing he had not the strength of the missionaries waited. Besides that in this division you can see the start of the national churches.
