Resumen
KABLY AMBE, Alberto et al. Conservative treatment of placental acreage. Three cases report and literature review. Acta méd. Grupo Ángeles [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.1, pp.72-75. ISSN 1870-7203.
Introduction:
Placenta accreta (PA) is one of the most serious obstetric condition with a high morbidity. The incidence has been reported in up to 1 in 333 births, increasing notably in recent years. Reports of mortality associated are up to 7% and could be even higher.
Objective:
To report three cases of patients in whom conservative management of the PA associated to placenta previa was performed, to comment the results and to review the literature.
Clinical cases:
We present three cases of conservative treatment of PA and review literature of several databases such as PubMed, Science, ACOG, and the journal of Ginecología y Obstetricia México.
Discussion and conclusions:
Currently it is possible to carry out a conservative management considering several approaches, however, it is important to remember that the management should be individualized, but in general has been recommended the interruption of pregnancy between the week 34 to 35. In addition, conservative management is a good option for women wishing to preserve fertility or in cases where it is attached to adjacent organs such as bladder or bowel, increasing the risk of injury.
