Resumen

BALDIN, André Víctor; TELICH TARRIBA, José E  y  APELLANIZ CAMPO, Armando. Mozart ear deformity. Report of five case. Acta méd. Grupo Ángeles [online]. 2019, vol.17, n.1, pp.25-28.  Epub 11-Mayo-2021. ISSN 1870-7203.

Mozart ear is a rare auricular deformity; clinically, the auricle is characterized by the bulging appearance of the anterosuperior portion of the auricle due to fusion of the crura of the antihelix, an inversion in the normal form of the cavum conchae resulting in its convexity and a slit-like narrowing of the orifice of the external auditory meatus. A retrospective review of the clinical and photographic records of patients treated at the ear reconstruction clinic of our hospital between June 2012 and December 2017 was performed; out of 616 consecutive patients, only four fulfilled the inclusion criteria, with a prevalence of 0.6%. The authors present these patients. Surgical interventions mainly focus on the correction of the convex shell; however, the procedure should be tailored to the severity of the deformity and the wishes of the patient.
